Creating Your First 360° VR Tour

A DEKO360 tour is a sequence of 360° panoramas ("scenes") that a visitor can walk through, jumping between rooms using clickable hotspots. You can also add a floor plan so visitors get a 3D dollhouse view of the whole property.

Step 1: Create a tour

1. From your Dashboard, click Create your first tour (or Create New Tour if you already have one).
2. Enter a Tour title — usually the property address or a short listing title. You can rename it later.
3. Choose whether it's an Indoor or Outdoor property, pick the Property type (Apartment or House), and say whether the property has multiple floors.
4. Click Create tour.

Step 2: Add spaces (rooms)

A space is a room or area of the property, like Kitchen, Bedroom or Garden. Grouping scenes into spaces keeps your tour organized and is what the floor plan and 3D view are built from.

1. In the editor, click Create your first space (later: Add space).
2. Name it, pick a Category (Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom, Living room, Hall, Dining room, Garden, Balcony, Terrace, Garage or Other) and choose whether it is indoor or outdoor.
3. If your property has more than one floor, use Add floor (Above / Below) in Spaces & Floors and assign each space to a floor.

Spaces are optional for a simple tour — you can also choose Upload without a space and organize later.

Step 3: Upload your panoramas

DEKO360 works with equirectangular 360° photos (the wide, 2:1 aspect-ratio panoramas produced by 360° cameras and most 360° phone-camera apps) — not regular photos.

1. Select a space, then drag one or more panorama files onto the upload strip at the bottom of the screen, or click it to choose files from your computer.
2. Supported formats are JPEG, PNG, and WebP, up to 100MB per file.
3. Each uploaded panorama becomes a scene inside that space. You can upload several at once.

After uploading, DEKO360 automatically processes each panorama (generating the smooth 360° view and the depth data used by the viewer). This takes a little time — you'll see a status indicator on each scene while it's processing, and the scene becomes explorable once it's marked ready. If one fails, see Reprocessing & Fixing Scenes.

Step 4: Add hotspots to connect your scenes

Hotspots are the clickable markers visitors use to move from one scene to another.

1. Select a scene from the strip at the bottom.
2. Click Add hotspot, then click anywhere on the panorama to place a marker.
3. In the panel on the right, choose the Destination scene for that hotspot.
4. Repeat for every doorway or transition point — and don't forget to add a hotspot going the other way from the destination scene, so visitors can walk back.

You can change the marker's look too: pick a tour-wide Hotspot Icon, or set the icon, Orientation (Floor or Wall) and Attention Animation for a single hotspot. See Customizing Hotspot Icons and Hotspot Orientation & Attention Animation.

Step 5: Polish the tour (optional)

• Set the start view. Turn the first scene to the direction visitors should face when the tour opens, then click Set start view.
• Set west. In each scene, turn the view to face west and click Set west to current view. This compass direction is needed for the floor plan and for the Walk transition.
• Choose a scene transition. In Tour Properties, pick Fade or Walk. Walk needs at least two linked scenes, a finished depth map and a compass direction on each scene; Check Walk setup shows what's missing, and scenes that aren't ready fall back to Fade.
• Blur faces and license plates. Use Blur area to permanently hide anything you don't want published. See Blurring Faces & Sensitive details.
• Add a guided tour. Click Script to build an autoplay walkthrough. See Autoplay Tour (Guided Script).
• Set a featured image. In Tour Properties, choose the preview image used when the tour is shared on social platforms.

Step 6: Add a floor plan and 3D dollhouse view (optional)

A floor plan turns your tour into a walkable 3D model of the property, painted with your own 360° photos. Visitors orbit the whole home, then tap a room to step inside.

1. Make sure every scene you want in the plan is assigned to a space and has its west direction set (Step 5).
2. Click Floor plan in the editor toolbar.
3. Select a room and click Draw, then click each corner of the room. Click the first corner again, or double-click, to finish. Use Undo and Redo as you go.
4. Drag the scene dots into the right rooms. For multi-floor properties, switch floors and use the Layers controls to see the outline of another floor.
5. Click Save. Outlines marked in red cross themselves or are too small and need fixing before they can be saved.

Want a scene to stay in the tour but out of the 3D model? Open it and turn on Exclude from floor plan and 3D view.

Once the tour is published, a 3D button appears in the viewer for visitors. Nothing to install.

Step 7: Publish

Once your scenes are ready and linked together, publish your tour so it's viewable by anyone with the link. See Publishing Your Tour.

Tips for better panoramas

• Shoot at a consistent height (chest or eye level) across every room for a natural walk-through feel.
• Avoid direct light sources in frame where possible — they can create bright blown-out spots in the panorama.
• A tripod produces noticeably cleaner results than handheld shots, especially for the stitching seam.
