API Keys & the WordPress Plugin

DEKO360

If you manage listings on your own WordPress site, the DEKO360 WordPress plugin lets you embed any of your tours on a post or page with a block, and see all your tours and their online or offline status from your WordPress dashboard. It connects to your account with an API key — a password-like code that lets an external site read the tours in one workspace.

What you'll need

  • A DEKO360 account with at least one tour, and a published tour if you want visitors to see it.
  • A WordPress site (WordPress 6.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer) where you can install plugins.
  • To be the owner of the workspace whose tours you want to use. Only the owner can create API keys — invited editors can't.

Step 1: Create an API key in DEKO360

  1. Go to Settings → API Keys.
  2. Give the key a name, such as "WordPress site".
  3. Choose the workspace it should access. Each key works for one workspace only.
  4. Click Create key.
  5. Copy the key right away. It starts with dk360_ and is shown in full only once. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.

Treat an API key like a password: anyone who has it can list every tour in that workspace.

Step 2: Install the plugin

In WordPress, install and activate the Deko360 – 360° Virtual Tour & Panorama Embed plugin: go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the plugin file, install it, then click Activate. A Deko360 item appears in the WordPress admin menu.

Step 3: Connect your account

  1. In WordPress, go to Deko360 → Connection.
  2. Paste your API key into API Key and click Connect.
  3. When it works, the page shows "Connected to" your workspace name and your account email. If you see "That API key could not be verified", check you copied the whole key and that it hasn't been revoked.

The plugin only contacts DEKO360 after you paste a key. It sends the key, and it gets back your workspace name, your account email and your tour list. It never sends anything about your site's visitors or content.

Step 4: See your tours

Go to Deko360 → Your Tours to see every tour in the workspace with its status:

  • Online — published and visible to visitors.
  • Offline — a draft or switched off.

Each row has an Edit button that opens the tour in the DEKO360 editor. The list is saved for a few minutes; click Refresh to load the latest.

Step 5: Embed a tour

  1. Edit a post or page and add the Deko360 Embed block.
  2. Pick your tour from the Tour dropdown. Offline tours are marked "(offline)", so publish a tour in DEKO360 before expecting visitors to see it.
  3. Adjust Height (px) under Embed Settings if you want something other than the default 600.
  4. Publish or update the page.

The tour appears in the page as an embedded frame, with full pan, zoom and hotspot navigation. The block supports wide and full-width alignment.

An embedded tour loads directly from DEKO360, not through the plugin. It follows the tour's own settings — audience, password, branding and so on — so see Embedding Your Tour and Who Can View Your Tour.

Disconnecting or revoking a key

  • Disconnect in WordPress: on Deko360 → Connection, click Disconnect. Tours already embedded in pages keep working, because the block doesn't need the connection to display.
  • Revoke in DEKO360: on Settings → API Keys, click Revoke next to the key. This takes effect immediately. The plugin's tour list and the block's tour picker stop working until you connect a new key, but tours already embedded on published pages keep showing.

To switch to a different workspace, create a key for that workspace and connect with it.

For developers

Integrations authenticate with Authorization: Bearer <your key> against the DEKO360 API, which lists the tours in the key's workspace. This is intended for plugins and external sites, not something most people need to use directly.
